EA Certificate Courses

Nicole Tough Dressage now offering EA Certificate Courses. As a qualified EA Level 3 Dressage Specialist and SSTA, Nicole has the facilities and resources to train and assess interested Equestrian’s to fulfil their EA Introductory to Horse Management and Riding courses.


These qualifications cover the basic concepts of equine management, horse welfare, best practise and riding to minimum standards.

 

EA Intro to Horse Management and EA Intro to Riding

Entry Requirements:

At least 12 years of age

Access to suitable horse for the riding units

 

These qualifications are mandatory for anyone wanting to progress to EA Level 1 Coaching. They are Internationally recognised qualifications and useful for Equine industry jobs such as vet attendant, airfreight, grooming positions and anyone wanting to work with horses.

 

Unit 1 – General Horsemanship and Safety

Estimated to take 4-6 hours for completion and assesses handlers on basic horsemanship skills and the safe handling of horses.

 

Unit 2 – Saddlery

Estimated to take 2-4 hours for completion, and assesses knowledge of various tack and equipment.

 

Unit 3 – Horse Care

Estimated to take 2-4 hours for completion. This unit covers topics including equine health and fitness, feeding, hoof care, grooming and travel.

 

Unit 4 – Riding

Covers the variety of skills and knowledge needed to perform equestrian riding. Candidates must have their own horse for this.

 

Unit 5 – Lungeing

Covers basic concepts of lungeing and is able to identify risk factors and best practises.

 

Practical Assessments done on site according and alongside the EA workbooks

 

$135 per session inc GST
